The Divine Female and St. Brigid

I’m scripting this DM on the Feast Day of St. Brigid of the Celts so you’ll obtain it a day after. 

It was becoming in yesterday’s DM that we targeted on Meister Eckhart’s instructing that we’re all “moms of God” and that we start the Christ after we start good work that brings compassion, peace and justice into historical past.

She loves the earth…fashions feminine management, conjures up poets and musicians, midwifes at new beginnings, and extravagantly embodies compassion and boundless generosity towards the poor and those that search refuge. 

There’s a power about her that very a lot mirrors the Mary of the Magnificat poem that we mentioned in a latest DM.  She is prophetic and intervenes on behalf of better justice.  

Since her first biography was written 100 years after her loss of life, her life is “shrouded in fable and legend” and the Celts take that ignorance as an invite to let creativeness broaden.

Newell names 4 “thresholds or liminalities” that Brigid addresses: the portal between the pre-Christian and the Christian; that between the divine and the human; that between humanity and the earth; and the “liminal area between the womb of the universe and what’s attempting to come back into being.”
